How to Use Journaling to Reach Your Goals!

journaling purpose self-leadership Sep 16, 2021

When trying to get anything accomplished the single most important thing you can do is to make a clear goal. Without goals, you’re guaranteed never to accomplish anything. I want to share with you how to use journaling to reach your goals now!

How does journaling help?

By writing out your goals, you help to make them clear in your mind. By writing about them often, you keep your energy up in regards to your goal. Journaling will help remind you why it’s essential, and what still needs to reach the goal. Consider it a form of positive thinking that will program your subconscious to begin working on your goals.

One of my favorite of all-time recordings is The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale! After you're finished with this post, check out the video here!

How to use journaling to reach your goals

  1. Start by writing out your goals for the week at the beginning of the week, so you have a clear roadmap for the time ahead.
  2. Then throughout the week, journal your progress.
  3. In the end, ask yourself some questions like "How do you feel about where you are and what still needs to happen, or even change to move forward?"

Your Turn to Write: What have you always dreamed of doing? List three big-picture goals. Why did you choose them? How would your life change if you accomplished them?

Do you find yourself procrastinating often on your goals? I have, for sure, and it's why I created my email series, "Procrastination to Productive!" I invite you to get this series for free by clicking here.
